Unseen Literature: Reading for Meaning
Studying an unseen prose contextual question is a useful reading for meaning exercise. It helps learners get used to the types of questions that they might get in a literature exam and these questions also extend their reading experience.
Comprehension and language-type questions are asked. Most questions are confined to the passage itself, but learners should be ready to answer questions that go beyond the passage, e.g. make predictions about the outcome of events described in the passage.
The extracts can also easily be used as introductions to written/oral assignments, a selection of which have been provided in this pack.
